For many years, refineries and gas plants have employed in-ground seal legs to prevent process vapor from entering the sulfur pit or collection vessel. While seal legs perform this function up to a point, they are prone to water intrusion and mechanical plugging, which result in costly repairs and unplanned SRU downtime. Above-ground sealing devices address many of these issues; but only Controls Southeast, Inc. (CSI) SxSeal™ 2000 provides all the benefits of above-ground and in-ground sulfur sealing devices, without any trade-offs. Safety expectations were exceeded, the SxSeal™ 2000 model is equipped with sight glasses that provide safe, visual confirmation of operating status. These sight glasses eliminate the need for the look boxes operators had used with the original seal legs.
Advantiv Engineering completed the engineering/design on the SRU-2 unit and is currently working on the SRU-1 unit design. We were also hired to provide assistance with the design of the steam/condensate systems at their Washington State Refinery achieving significant cost avoidance associated with learning about steam/condensate system design.
Advantiv Engineering can provide the process engineering for equipment sizing and selection, detailed engineering for designing the steam jacketed piping and condensate removal manifold systems.
